About the $4,800 price
What “starting at” means for your home.
$4,800 is where a furnace replacement starts, for a home where the new furnace goes in where the old one was and connects to the venting, ductwork and gas line already there. Plenty of homes need more than that. Here is what we look at, so the number on your estimate makes sense.
What every replacement includes
- A free in-home estimate before anything is decided
- A furnace recommendation that fits the size of your home
- A written price you approve before any work starts
- Installation by a licensed, bonded and insured team
- Natural gas, propane, electric and oil systems
- Site-built, modular and manufactured homes
Your written estimate lists the furnace we recommend and every change it needs, so you can see exactly where the price comes from.
What can raise the price
- Model and brand. Some furnaces cost more than others for the same size of home.
- Efficiency. Higher-efficiency furnaces cost more up front and less to run.
- Size. A larger home or a home that loses heat fast needs more furnace.
- Venting. Some furnaces need new venting run to the outside.
- Ductwork. Changes at the furnace, or ducts that no longer fit the new unit.
- Gas line. Moving, resizing or adding to the gas line to the furnace.
None of these are surprises you find out about on install day. They are all on your written estimate first.
Why replace now
A fall replacement is on your schedule. A January one is not.
Replacing a furnace after it quits in the middle of a Duluth or Superior winter means making a big decision fast, in a cold house. Doing it in the fall gives you time to compare options and pick an install date. These are the signs it is time to start looking.

Questions
What people ask about the fall special.
Why is my estimate higher than $4,800?
$4,800 is the starting price for the simplest replacement: the new furnace goes where the old one was and uses the venting, ductwork and gas line that are already there. Many homes need more than that. A higher-efficiency or larger furnace costs more, and so do new venting, ductwork changes or gas line work. Your written estimate shows each of those line by line. If you are holding an estimate that is higher than this price, call us at (715) 817-4404 and we will go through it with you and explain what is driving the number.
What does the $4,800 starting price cover?
A furnace replacement in a home that does not need venting, ductwork or gas line changes. The exact furnace, and everything that goes with it, is spelled out on your written estimate before you agree to anything.
Is the in-home estimate really free?
Yes. We come out, look at your home and your current system, and give you a written price. There is no charge for the estimate and no obligation to go ahead.
Do you replace propane, oil and electric furnaces too?
Yes. We work on natural gas, propane, electric and oil systems, and we install in site-built, modular and manufactured homes. If you are thinking about switching fuels, bring it up at the estimate.
Which furnace brands do you install?
We install trusted, established brands and will recommend options that fit your home and budget at the estimate. If you have a brand in mind, tell us and we will talk it through.
Can I finance a new furnace?
Yes, through GreenSky, subject to credit approval. You can check your financing options before the estimate or ask us about it when we come out.
When does the fall special end?
There is no set end date right now. If that changes, this page will say so. The price that applies to your furnace is the one on your written estimate.
