Common Furnace Questions from Esko Homeowners
Why is my furnace blowing cold air?
A dirty flame sensor is the most frequent cause — the sensor can’t detect the burner flame, so the gas valve shuts off. Clogged filters and bad ignitors are close behind. In some of Esko’s newer homes with high-efficiency furnaces, a plugged condensate drain can also trigger a shutdown. We test everything to find the root cause.
How often should a furnace be serviced?
Once a year, ideally before heating season. Esko furnaces run six to seven months a year, and that heavy use wears parts down. A fall tune-up catches problems early and keeps your system running at peak efficiency.
Should I repair or replace my furnace?
Past 15 years old with a major repair needed? Replacement usually makes more sense. Esko’s newer homes might still have original furnaces from the 2000s that are entering that window. We’ll show you the cost comparison so you can decide.
How much does furnace repair cost?
It depends on the component. A flame sensor or ignitor replacement is relatively affordable. A blower motor or control board replacement costs more. We provide Esko homeowners with a written quote before starting any repair.
